SECRET INVASION (SERIES)
Premiere Date: June 21, 2023
Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Talos are going to be in a new TV show called Secret Invasion. They will try to stop a group of bad aliens called Skrulls who are on Earth and pretending to be regular people. The show is based on a comic book series of the same name. Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke are joining the cast, and some people think they might play Skrulls too. The show is going to be darker than other Marvel TV shows. It will premiere in June 2023, and it might be one of only two new Marvel shows coming out that year. The show is connected to the movies Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home. In those movies, the Skrulls are looking for a new planet to live on, but things are not going well. One character from another Disney+ show might also be a Skrull in disguise.
Secret Invasion is a TV series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Talos as they investigate and confront a group of Skrulls who have infiltrated Earth. The Skrulls are a shape-shifting alien race, and they are hiding in every aspect of life on the planet. The series features actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, and Ben Mendelsohn in lead roles.
The series is based on a popular comic book storyline of the same name and is considered one of Marvel’s most significant events since the Civil War. The series is being written by Kyle Bradstreet, and it features actors like Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, and Don Cheadle in various roles.
Production for the show began in November 2021, and the series wrapped up in April 2022. It is set to release in June 2023 on Disney+. The teaser trailer for the show suggests that it will be the most serious of the Disney+ Marvel shows to date.
The plot of the series revolves around the aftermath of the events in Avengers: Endgame, where Nick Fury and Maria Hill are shown to be working on a secret project. It is revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home that Fury’s armada was meant to help the Skrulls find a new home, and Secret Invasion will explore the consequences of this project. The show also hints that one of the characters we’ve seen in a Disney+ series may have been replaced by a Skrull.

THE MARVELS
Release Date: November 10, 2023
In January 2020, Marvel hired Megan McDonnell to start writing a sequel to Captain Marvel. Brie Larson was confirmed to be returning as Carol. In August of the same year, Nia Costa was announced as the film’s director. At the 2020 Disney Investor Day, it was revealed that Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris would be joining the cast, and the film would take place in the modern-day MCU. The movie was later titled The Marvels. Production started in August 2021 with the addition of Park Seo Joon and Kamala’s family from Ms. Marvel to the cast, and Zawe Ashton signed on to play a villain. The film’s release was delayed to July 2023 due to scheduling changes and production delays. The Marvels finished filming in May 2022, and its release date was moved to November 2023. The movie will likely continue the cosmic themes of the Marvel Universe, and it will feature Earth, with both Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau joining Carol in her adventure.
The Marvels is a highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 film Captain Marvel. In early 2020, Marvel hired WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell to draft the script for the film. Brie Larson will reprise her role as Carol, aka Captain Marvel. The film will be directed by Nia Costa, who replaced the original film’s directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
In 2020, at the Disney Investor Day presentation, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that Iman Vellani from Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris from WandaVision would join the cast of The Marvels. The film will take place in the modern-day MCU.
In June 2021, Park Seo Joon reportedly joined the production, which began filming in August. Kamala’s family from Ms. Marvel also joined the cast. Zawe Ashton was added to the cast as an unknown villain.
The Marvels was originally scheduled to release in February 2022 but was delayed to July 2022 and then to November 2023. The delay was due to production delays and scheduling changes across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Filming finally wrapped in May 2022.
The plot details for The Marvels are still under wraps, but given the film’s cosmic emphasis post-Endgame, it’s likely that the film will follow up on ideas from Guardians of the Galaxy and Eternals. However, with both Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau joining Carol on this adventure, we know that the film will feature Earth in some capacity, as the final moments of Ms. Marvel showed Carol on the planet.
LOKI SEASON 2 (SERIES)
Premiere Date: 2023
Feige announced during the May 2022 Disney Upfront presentation that the cast of Loki would be returning for the show’s second season. Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Eugene Cordero, and Wunmi Mosaku will all reprise their roles as Loki navigates the aftermath of Sylvie’s (Di Martino) killing of He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). It is speculated that Majors may return as a variant other than Kang or He Who Remains. Additionally, Ke Huy Quan has joined the cast for the new season.
The head writer for the second season will be Eric Martin, taking over from Michael Waldron, while directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will replace Kate Herron. Rumors suggest that the second season will be one of only two Marvel series streaming on Disney+ in 2023, with Secret Invasion premiering in June.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may introduce new plot developments surrounding Kang’s involvement in Phase 5, potentially leading to the possibility that the variant responsible for the TVA statues may be a more benevolent entity than He Who Remains. While this is a speculative theory, it is a possibility. The ramifications of this development for Loki’s story are unclear at this time.
Meanwhile, it is anticipated that Loki will continue his quest to uncover the underlying issues affecting all possible realities and may seek the assistance of his brother in the process.
